Good morning Band Families,
One week down, one more to go! I can’t believe how incredibly lucky we’ve been (well the students and band directors have been) with this great weather! I hope it is going well for your student and they are enjoying every minute of it. My experience has been that my kids complain about having to get up early, the heat, being tired, etc., but then when it’s over, there is a little bit of a let down. So don’t worry ...they may not tell you so but they are secretly loving it! A new thing we are doing this year in lieu of a picnic at a park is a pool party/picnic at BVSW. It will be this Saturday (same day as uniform fittings) from 4pm to 7pm. Mr. Lesando and Ms. Bock will be firing up the grill while your student hangs out with all the band students either poolside or in the circle drive playing yard games. There will be Corn hole, Frisbee, and Ladder Golf. Feel free to bring any yard games you think the students would enjoy. We will have 4 lifeguards at the pool-safety first! Please encourage your student to attend as it is a great, laid back time for them to socialize and get to know their band family better. No need to bring anything, this one’s on us! Thank you to everyone who has supplied snacks or signed up to supply snacks for band camp - all of the slots have been filled. If you wanted to contribute but didn’t have the opportunity – feel free to bring extras. If they are not used during band camp, we use them during competitions and other events. Thank you, again! The fundraiser will begin during band camp and the kids can sell until August 30th. The mums will be in 9" pots 12-18" wide and 12-16" tall and cost $10 each. The color choices are Yellow, Purple/Pink, Red, Orange/Bronze, and White. Pickup of the mums will be September 21st from 8 am-12 pm in the school parking lot.
