Good morning Band Families,
School starts on Thursday! This summer has flown by but I, for one, am ready to get back to the school routine-Grace, not so much. With the start of school and the completion of summer band camp, things start moving quickly. Please pay attention to the band calendar, check our emails for any updates, and if you know someone who isn’t receiving these emails, please have them reach out to me immediately. Next week we will have our first Band Booster Meeting in the Orchestra room. That is just down the hall from the band room. If you are a parent of a student in the marching band, you are a member of the booster club. We will hold these meetings once a month to help keep parents up to date on what’s happening in band. Mr. Lesando and Ms. Bock attend these meetings as well. If you are a new family or have just never attended a parent booster meeting, please make room in your schedule as I think you will find a lot of your questions about upcoming events in band will be answered. There has been a change at the board level I wanted to let you all know about. Laura Fornelli, our VP of Fundraising, has decided to step down. Currently, the board as a whole will oversee all fundraising activities as we search for a replacement. Thank you, Laura, for your contribution to the marching band. We will miss you at the board meetings. SPIRIT WEAR We had a great response to the Spirit Wear store, thank you to everyone! We will have all orders available for pickup on Parent Preview Day (Aug 24). FUNDRAISING Mums are back again this year! I handed out order forms during band camp and the kids can sell until August 30. If this form did not make it home to you, please use one of the attached forms below. The mums will be in 9" pots 12-18" wide and 12-16" tall and cost $10 each. The color choices are Yellow, Purple/Pink, Red, Orange/Bronze, and White. Pickup of the mums will be September 21 from 8 am-12 pm in the school parking lot.
