All parents,
We had an unexpected kink in our travel plans to St. Louis. Our charter bus company has dropped us. The school/district admin have been fighting with them all morning, but we have come to an impasse. The company we ordered buses from doesn’t actually own the buses and never secured the buses for our trip. The charter company waited and were calling people all weekend to find another company with buses, but they were not lucky – due to the things we already knew: Bands going to St. Louis and the national farm/agricultural convention in KC that has reserved all of the buses in this area and state. The band board voted to reserve charter buses in lieu of the already planned school buses. The District and Mr. Lesando were told by the company that the buses were available and booked and then notified us today that they, in fact, were not. This last minute change is entirely out of our control, and while efforts were made by the district and Mr. Lesando to remedy the problem, they were unable to accommodate our reservation. However, the kids will still attend Bands of America, and it will always be an experience they will remember for a lifetime. Here is the new plan: Students will be divided between 5 school buses for the ride to St. Louis. We are taking the nicest school buses possible and more than originally planned to accommodate luggage and allow the students to be comfortable on the trip. As expected, Mr. Lesando and Ms. Bock are swamped with the details of this trip. If you should have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email Shelbe or Dana. If there is a question we can not answer for you, rest assured we will find the answer and get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience, Shelbe Krone Dana Gonnerman BVSW Band Boosters
