Hello all! This week has been AWESOME! The band has been absolutely pushing for the next level. Please make sure your student stays hydrated this weekend and gets lots of sleep. Ms. Bock and I are incredibly proud. We have the whole intro and pre-show on the field playing and marching. Copyrights - if you observe portions of rehearsal and take video, please do not post the video publicly until our first football performance to protect our paid copyrights for the show music. Show Shirts are T-shirts that are specially designed for this year’s marching show theme “Fireborn”. Show Shirts are ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE and will not be available for cash and carry throughout the year. DO NOT order one for your student: student Show Shirts are provided by Band Boosters. • No Returns or Exchanges: all Spirit Wear items are Custom Orders. See order website for Refund Policy. • Taxes: although Boosters is a non-profit, by law we must pay taxes (added at checkout). 3 STUDENT BBQ & PARENT MIXER - SAT 7/28 Click HERE for details. 4 SPECIAL SCHEDULE ON FRIDAY: LUNCH AND OLYMPICS ▪ FREE Lunch for students provided by Boosters this Friday ▪2 Guys and a Grill will serve Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork & Vegetarian Brisket, Chips, Cookies & Brownies and Drinks. 1:00 pm: ANNUAL BAND OLYMPICS, followed by Lip Sync Battle between sections in the Commons. We should be done with camp between 3 and 3:30 this day. 5 FUNDRAISER at PINOT’S PALETTE IN OLATHE Sun, Aug 19: Fundraiser at Pinot’s Palette in Olathe (11945 S Strang Line Rd, Olathe, KS 66062) from 2:00-4:00pm. Students and Families are welcome! Snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage! Pinot’s Palette supplies ice, glassware and bottled water. Cost is $40 per seat and $10 of that will be donated to BVSW Marching Band. Painting can be customized to have two people, one person, or even a Timberwolf! Stop by before or after uniform fittings and let the Guard give your car its back-to-school shine! We’ll be there even if it’s cool and cloudy. 7 CALENDAR BEYOND BAND CAMP

PARENTS text message @mrlesando to 81010 or type rmd.at/mrlesando into computer or tablet web browser 9 MUMS FUNDRAISER Now through August 24! The mums will be in 9” pots (12-18” W x 12-16” H). Choices are yellow, purple/pink, red, orange/bronze and white. They are being sold for $10 each and the band earns $ 4.75 per mum sold. Pickup will be Saturday, September 22 from 8am-Noon in the BVSW Band Parking Lot. The information the students received this week has an order form with 14 lines on it. In the envelope, are 14 “receipts” for their customers. Their customer should plan on picking up their mum from the school during the pickup time above. If your student fills out the entire order form, have them drop it off in the payment box in the band room and they can pick up another envelope from Ms. Bock. There will be prizes given to the people with the top 5 sales! We have AMC Gift Cards!!! If you have family & friends from out of town, consider having them purchase a Mum and donate that to a local hospital or nursing home! Musically, Mr. Lesando and Ms. Bock
